Information and communications technology leaders in the Philippine Congress lauded National ICT Confederation of the Philippines former chair Jocelle Batapa-Sigue for introducing the business process outsourcing industry to cities outside of Metro Manila.
Senator Edgardo Angara, chair of the Senate Committee on Science and Technology, lauded Sigue in his acceptance speech during the recent International ICT Awards in Makati, a press release from the Bacolod-Negros Occidental Federation for Information and Communications Technology said.
‘Asyana’ final phase launched
The fourth and final phase of Verdana Homes Asyana of Ayala Land Inc., at Ayala North Point, Talisay City, Negros Occidental was launched Saturday.
The Verdana Homes Asyana is a 22-hectare property adjacent to the Plantazionne Verdana Homes.
Rouel Abuana, its sales manager said the development’s lots are sold at a minimum of P7,080 per square meter and sizes range from 225 square meters to 343 sqm.
Former Sen. Richard Gordon said in a press release yesterday that he seeks to stop the discrimination against Filipino job seekers who are over-aged, poor or not pleasant-looking.
Gordon, who is again running for senator, plans to create an equal opportunity law which aims to ensure that a Filipino job seeker’s application will not be turned down outright just because he is over-aged, poor, or not good looking enough, the press release said.
Employers should choose employees based on their ability, morals and education, Gordon said.
