Teen wanted for
slay of friend's pa
BY ADRIAN NEMES III

A teenager stabbed and killed the father of his friend over missing money at about 11:10 p.m. Sunday in Brgy. Banago, Bacolod City .

The victim was identified by Station 3 chief, Senior Insp. Dianne Grace Aquitania, as Renato Tumakay, 54, of Purok Langis in Brgy, Banago and employed as a delivery van driver.

Tumakay, who sustained stab wounds on his chest, was brought to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital but was declared dead on arrival.

Aquitania said the suspect, 19, of Purok Bolinao in Brgy. Banago, whose name she withheld pending his arrest, fled and brought with him the bladed weapon he had used.

Investigation showed that Tumakay was on his way home when the suspect, who was waiting for him at the pathway leading to his house, blocked and stabbed him.

Aquitania said suspect got mad at Tumakay, who had accused him of stealing money from his house. The suspect had lived with Tumakay several days before the stabbing happened, she said.

Meanwhile, a man was arrested after he hacked his father at about 9:45 p.m. Sunday in Brgy. Handumanan, Bacolod City.

Station 10 chief, Senior Insp. Terence Paul Santa Ana identified the suspect as Julius Jadoc, 39, of Purok Roseville, Brgy. Handumanan, Bacolod .

Basilio Jadoc, 73, said he heard his grandson, whose name he did not disclose shouting, and when he checked, he saw his son Julius chasing his grandson with a bolo.

The elder Jadoc said he tried to stop his son, who, however, boxed his nose and hacked him on his right arm. The victim is now confined at the CLMMRH while his son is detained at the lock-up cell of Police Station 10, Santa Ana said.

The 16-inch long bladed weapon used by the suspect was recovered from his possession by the police, he added.*APN
