Bacolod City, through its tourism office, support the 1st Fly-Drive Tour Caravan in Negros Occidental May 16 - 19, a press release from the city said.
Bacolod City Administrator John Orola said Mayor Evelio Leonardia has authorized him to extend full support to the Caravan.
Leonardia said “We will fully support this event because it is an effective way of promoting tourism in our city and province.”
Orola said he believes Bacolod and Negros Occidental must boost local tourism to complement the sugar industry.
The caravan on the theme “Negros Occidental Fly-Drive Caravan: A Food Expedition and a Farm Tourism Experience” is being organized by Dr. Mina Gabor of AAP Travel and will be participated in by students, government employees, diplomats, representatives from various organizations and media, the press release said.
This event aims at promoting domestic tourism by informing and educating participants about the historical and cultural aspects of Negros Occidental and its various products, innovations and best practices, it also said.
The tour will take the participants to Victorias, Silay, Talisay, Bacolod, Murcia and Don Salvador Benedicto, the press release added.*
