Abang Lingkod to fight
disqualification order

BY CARLA GOMEZ

Commission on Elections chairman Sixto Brillantes Jr. yesterday tweeted the names of 11 partylist groups, including Abang Lingkod, that have been disqualified from participating in the 2013 polls.

Abang Lingkod’s first nominee is Negrense Stephen Paduano, alias Carapali Lualhati, former national commander of the Revolutionary Proletarian Army- Alex Boncayao Brigade.

“We’re officially on the ballot. We will fight it out in the Supreme Court. Tuloy ang laban (the fight continues),” Paduano said, in reaction to the announcement of Brillantes.

Paduano said he will go ahead with the Abang Lingkod grand rally in Barangay Bata, Bacolod City, today.

“If Brillantes’s announcement is true, it is unfair for the COMELEC to make such an announcement one week before the elections. It means they gave in to pressure from the extreme left groups,” Paduano added.

Other parties disqualified along with Abang Lingkod are A-IPRA, ANAD, Ang Galing Pinoy, Atong Paglaum, Senior Citizens, Smart, 1ST Kabagis, Bantay, COCOFED, andBINHI, Brillantes said.*CPG
