Puentevella to review
city list of casuals

Bacolod City mayor-elect Monico Puentevella yesterday said he will review the list of casual employees in the city government’s payroll and assess their usefulness to determine who will stay and who will have to go.

Puentevella said he will go over the list after taking a few days of rest now that the election is over.

The new mayor, who went around the city yesterday morning with some members of his family and supporters to take down their campaign posters said he has to assess the usefulness of casual employee as part of his cost-cutting measures.

“We need to cut costs. We also need to review the Revised Revenue Code to see how we can make up for the budget deficit,” Puentevella said.

Puentevella said he will set a meeting with local businessmen and will request the “best accountants from the finance sector” to help his administration determine how to boost the city coffers and how to cut cost.

He reiterated that everybody should bury the past and start working to address the existing problems in the city. *NAB
