Poll protest in San Enrique
BY CARLA GOMEZ

The 19 ballot boxes of San Enrique town were placed inside a cage at the San Enrique Pasalubong Center to secure the ballots for a recount of the votes for the position of mayor.

Mayor Mario Magno was reelected with 6,277 votes giving him a 20-vote lead over Jilson Tubillara who had 6,257 votes,.

San Enrique Election Officer Marcos Cordero said he was informed that Tubillara is protesting the returns from 12 of the 19 precincts in the town.

Meanwhile, both parties have asked that the ballot boxes be properly secured, he said.

Magno yesterday said he had not been informed yet about the protest but it was the right of Tubillara to do so.*CPG
