Migz says thank you
BY CARLA GOMEZ

Senatorial candidate Juan Miguel Zubiri, who has roots in Negros Occidental, yesterday thanked the 11.7 million Filipinos, including those from Negros Occidental, who voted for him in the May 13 polls.

In Negros Occidental Zubiri ranked No. 5 with 402,210 votes among the senators with the most number of votes, while in Bacolod City he was in eighth place with 93,666 votes.

“I would like to thank all the 11.7 million people who voted for me and gave me their trust and confidence,” he said.

“I look back now at my thirteen years in public service as the best years of my life. I have no regrets and worked as hard as I could to make a difference in the lives of our people,” he said.

Zubiri said it was an honor for him to have served the nation.

Now, he said it is time to move on.

“It is with great pride that I return to private life as a civilian, knowing what I have done, and that I have given everything I can to help our beloved country. I will continue to support and do my part to help heal the divisions of this nation and continue to work and pray for the success of our leaders,” he added.*CPG
