Eco-tourism confab postponed

The Department of Tourism has postponed the 5th Ecotourism Conference originally slated on Nov. 13 to 15.

This postponement was due to the 7.2 magnitude earthquake on Oct. 15 that adversely affected Central Visayas.

The DOT said rescheduling was necessary for local government units to complete their post activities.

It will also give local people of quake stricken-Bohol and Cebu a chance to recover from the recent catastrophe, it added.

Participants who have registered online were also advised by the DOT to reconfirm that their attendance is reactive with the new schedule.

The DOT further advised participants to keep tabs on http://wec2013philippines.com/ for the new schedule.

“We look forward to everyone’s kind cooperation and support as we work for the swift recovery of Cebu and Bohol infrastructure,” Tourism undersecretary Daniel Corpuz said in a press statement.*PNA
