The Negros Occidental Amity Club, led by its chairman, John Yap, recently held its Appreciation Night at its social hall to honor the kind-hearted individuals who contributed their time, talent and resources for the renovation of the Amity Building and the operations of its fire brigade. China Consul General Zhang Wei Guo was the guest of honor.
The Consul General was welcomed at the Bacolod-Silay Airport by Silay City Mayor Oti Montelibano, Diotay Lopue and the officers of the Negros Occidental Amity Club, a socio-civic organization dedicated to building stronger ties between the Chinese and Filipino communities. Through its Volunteer Fire Brigade, the organization has saved countless lives and property.
The club is headed by chairman and president Yap, honorary presidents Luis Chan and Enrique Dy, EVP Simplicio Gamboa Jr., vice presidents Reynaldo Espina, Guilermo Coo and Henry Uy, Joel Chua as chair of the Fire Brigade Committee, fire chief Carlos Ganihong, and directors Roger, Phillip and Johnny Yap and Nelson Ng.
