Letran forces Game 3
in NCAA titular tussle

MANILA - The Letran Knights averted a late game collapse to defeat the San Beda Red Lions,79-74, and forced a sudden death match for the NCAA title at the Mall Of Asia Arena in Pasay City yesterday.

Cat-quick Guard Mark Cruz led the Knights after finishing with 16 points,1 rebound and 4 assists despite playing with a an injury.

With the score knotted at 64 all,the Knights launched a jaw-dropping 8-0 assault that shocked the Red Lions who found themselves trailing by eight,72-64 midway through the quarter.

The Red Lions tried to catch up by generating a 5-0 rally to chop the deficit to three,72-69.

Ola Adeogun tried to salvage the win for the Red Lions after firing an unexpected clutch trey that trimmed Letran's lead to three,77-74.

But the valiant Knights stayed composed in the endgame as Mark Cruz calmly sank his two charities to seal the win.

Game Three will be on Saturday, 2 p.m at the Mall Of Asia Arena.*PNA
