Bahay Pasilungan inspected

Bacolod City Mayor Monico Puentevella and members of the MKK Assistance Center inspected the situation of the children at the Bahay Pasilungan in Bacolod City Wednesday, a press release from City Hall said.

Puentevella, who was in Barangay Villamonte for the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps), decided to assess the condition of the housed minors and the center after super typhoon Yolanda hit Bacolod, the press release said.

He donated, through Inspector Jovy Cabcaban of the Bacolod City Police Office Women and Children’s Protection Desk, a sack of rice and assured to three incoming college freshmen to help them in their education next year, the press release also said.

The Bahay Pasilungan is home to eight minors aged 7 to 17. Pacita Tero said they are victims of sexual abuse, physical maltreatment and neglected by their parents, the press release added.*
