‘Banene’ turns 95!
November 15 was a red-letter day for Virgilia “Banene” Marigomen Taguiwalo, who celebrated her 95th birthday, and a surprise lunch was held in her honor at Bob’s Big Boy Resto, with her loved ones, friends and gracious and gregarious senior citizens present.
The treat was from her daughters Debbie Lao, who came home from Ventura, California; Glenda Lasta from Las Vegas, Nevada; and the youngest, Judy Taguiwalo, professor at the University of the Philippines Diliman in Quezon City. Also involved in the planning of the party was Leni Serra from Chicago, Illinois, who was unable to join the blowout because she was down with flu.
To dear Tita Banene, may you have many more candles to blow and may the good Lord bless you! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!*
Remember: I cried because I have no shoes until I saw a man with no feet. Life is full of blessings but, sometimes, we are just too blind to appreciate them.*
