46 complete ‘Teknoklinik’

The Teknoklinik and farmers dialog organized by the Agricultural Training Institute Region 6 under the Department of Agriculture for updates on programs that they can avail from government agencies, was attended by 246 participants from La Castellana town, Negros Occidental, Armando Abano, Provincial Food Coordinator said yesterday.

A representative from the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist discussed AgriPinoy framework, sustainable agriculture, climate change, crops technologies and fishery updates.

After the activity, 29 farmers enrolled at the Negros First Insurance program that will insure their crops from infestation and destruction cause by calamities while others were accepted as members of the Social Security System through its Alkansssya Program.

The activity was capped by the creation of the La Castellana Farmer’s and Fisherfolk Federation or the Pambansang Mannalon-Maguuma-Magbabaul-Magsasaka ng Pilipinas.

Agency representatives at the activity were John John Tangco, Account Management Head of Social Security System, Mila Abaquita, Agricultural Center Chief IV of Bureau of Plant Industry, Dionisio Asencio, Principal Engineer of National Irrigation Association and Jobe Chua, Assistant Provincial Manager of National Food Authority.*APN
