Grains retailers give out rice

The Grains Retailers Confederation of Negros Occidental recently gave several packs of rice and goods to families affected by typhoon Yolanda in Cadiz City, Negros Occidental, Sherill Bico, GRECON secretary, said yesterday.

Bico said the rice supply and goods were given by grains retailers from the cities of Bago, La Carlota, Cadiz, Talisay and Sagay and from the towns of Pontevedra, Manapla and San Enrique.

She said 500 families from Brgy. Cabahug in Cadiz benefited from the initiative.

Bico added that the activity was in coordination with the National Food Authority-Negros Occidental led by its manager, Procopio Trabajo III.

Typhoon Yolanda destroyed 13,233 houses and damaged 48,144 in Negros Occidental, the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office
