of alleged Marcos crony
The Supreme Court yesterday gave the Sandiganbayan the "go signal" to proceed with the criminal case against alleged Marcos crony Herminio Disini.
In a ruling made public Monday, the SC's 1st Division denied for lack of merit the petition filed by Disini questioning the jurisdiction of the Sandiganbayan to prosecute him and if the allegation against him has prescribed.

‘Avoid illegal fertilizer dealers’
Farmers should not buy fertilizers and pesticides from unauthorized dealers as these will destroy their crops and are hazardous to health, Francis Flores, Negros Occidental Provincial coordinator for Pesticide Authority, said yesterday.
Flores said that in the province, PA has authorized only 126 fertilizers and pesticide dealers.
"Unauthorized pesticide and fertilizer dealers do not issue receipts and if there are any untoward incidents, we cannot hold them accountable", he said.
