SJI volleybelles poised to keep
NOPSSCEA high school title

Defending champion St. John’s Institute high school girls’ volleyball team beat St. Scholastica’s Academy, 25-14, 25-10, to strengthen their title retention bid in this year’s NOPSSCEA season at the University of St. La Salle Covered Court.

Out to challenge the SJI rule is the USLS-IS girls, who yielded their title last year to the Johnians.

Determined to get back to the No. 1 spot, the La Sallians stamped their class over Mansilingan Christian Academy, 25-6, 25-5; while La Consolacion College-Bacolod improved its record with a win against Brookside, 25-21, 25-16.

Sharp Aquos bowlers
rule pre-MassKara tilt

Sharp Aquos I won the championship in the premiere division, as FRM Marketing and Sharp Aquos II were co-champion in Class B of the 2013 Pre-Masskara Supplier’s Cup Open and Non-rated Bowling Tournament at the New Top’s Millennium Plaza Alley in Bacolod City.

Tiger Eye won the title in the women’s department.

Aquos I, composed of Edgar De Leon, Nonoy Hulguin and Reymund Lopez won over Willy Mahilum, Hernand Garciniego and Abe Leong of NPBC RJ Stars/LJP in a deciding contest, 332-323.

NePan, Capitol share lead in
LNA7 - BCAN cagefest

Negros Panay Sales (NePan) posted back-to-back wins over the weekend to share the lead with Province of Negros Occidental in the 1st LNA7-Basketball Coaches Association of Negros Inter-Office Basketball Tournament, at the West Negros Gym, a  press release from BCAN said.

NePan demolished Teletech, 92-78, on Saturday and dominated New Government Center by more than 20 points Sunday for its third straight win.  The Singcang-based squad debuted with an 81-55 win over Merci Pasalubong  earlier.

PoNO   won  over USLS Faculty also on Saturday for victory number 3 following its 108-40 conquest of CENECO 2 and 90-66 triumph over SYL, the press release said.
