ethical standards

BY CHRYSEE SAMILLANO

The local implementation of RA 6713 or "An Act Establishing a Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees," is being spearheaded in Bacolod by Councilor Carlos Jose Lopez.

Lopez said he plans to start its compliance of the City Government and its employees through programs focusing on being committed public servants.

The programs consist of strategic performance management system, values orientation workshop, local government executive forum and discipline of personnel/leave administration among many others.

This will be a collaborative effort between the Human Resource Department of the City, Ombudsman, Department of Interior and Local Government, Civil Service Commission, and his Office, Lopez said.

As the chairman of the Committee on Tourism,Lopez said they are working very hard to encourage investments and to develop certain areas in Bacolod.

Lopez said that on October 15, the Armadillo group of company will send over a group to do a study of the markets. They have been successful in four parts in Luzon and are hoping to replicate that in Bacolod City, he said.*CGS
