Dialog on landholdings held

The Department of Agrarian Reform in Negros Oriental held a roundtable dialog with the San Carlos Diocesan Social Action Foundation Inc. at the Bishop’s Home in San Carlos City, Negros Occidental recently.

The meeting was aimed to level off the status of implementation of the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program and to get the commitment of the DAR on the proper disposition of landholdings in La Libertad, Guihulngan, Canlaon and Vallehermoso, a press release from the agency said.

The SCDFI plans to partner with the DAR in the future consultations and dialogs, the press release also said.

The Foundation was formed on May 3, 1992 as the implementing arm of the Diocesan Commission on Service, and aims to become an agent of change for the transformation of society.

At the dialog were Fr. Edwin Laude, executive director of the San Carlos Social Action Center and staff, Negros Oriental Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officer Louie Naranjo and municipal agrarian reform program officers, the press release added.*
