Labordo leads Bacolod pugs
in ALA-Cobra boxing tourney

Bacoleño Juren “Turbo” Labordo heads the list of prizefighters who will slug it out with equally talented pugs from different provinces in the country in the Ala-Cobra Tunay na Lakas Boxing Tournament scheduled tonight, 6 p.m. at the Bacolod BAYS Center, a press release from city hall said.

Labordo will lay his undefeated record on line as he battles Marzon Cabilla (9W-9L-1D, 4 KO) of Valencia in the main event while Rolan Servania (4W-0L-0D, 1 KO) will try to give Atique's Marlon Macayan (1W-0L-1D) his first professional loss in the event's special attraction.

Rolan is the younger brother of Super bantamweight champ Genesis “Azukal” Servania ( 22-0, 8 KO), who won his last bout against Japanese pug Konosuke Tomiyama via split decision last July in Macau, the press release said.

Ateneo shuttlers
post record wins

Ateneo subdued National University in three final matches, 2-3, 3-0, 3-2, for a complete historic sweep of the men's team gold in the UAAP badminton at Jumpsmash Badminton Courts.

The Blue Shuttlers fought back from a first finals match setback to sweep the next two as Patrick Natividad, Justin Natividad, Clarence Filart, Bryan Garrido, Theodore Co, Sean Chan, Kyle Gosiaco and Arlo Madrid stepped up to frustrate the Bulldogs and fashion out the come-from-behind victory.

Natividad went on to bag the MVP honors.
