Norwegian freed from jail

A Norwegian, who was arrested Wednesday for violation of Republic Act 9262, or the Violence Against Women and Children Act, was freed from jail Thursday after posting bail of P34,000 in Victorias City, Negros Occidental.

Police Supt. Santiago Rapiz, Victorias police chief, identified the released suspect as Arne Andreas Hoff, 64, presently residing at Canetown Subdivision, Brgy. 19-A, in Victorias City.

Hoff was apprehended by virtue of arrest warrants issued by Silay Regional Trial Court Judge Dyna Doll Chiongson-Trocio for violation of Section 5 of RA 9262, and for concubinage, issued by the Victorias Municipal Trial Court in Cities Judge Evelyn Arsenio.

Trocio has recommended bail of P24,000 for violation of RA 9262, and P10,000 for concubinage was recommended by Arsenio.* GPB
