Of arts and culture


It was an exciting 75 th Charter Day parade for Bacolod City recently with colorful personalities adding more thrill to the parade that passed by the main thoroughfares of Bacolod.

Thousands of spectators lined the streets to greet their favorite personalities, among them the beautiful queens of the Mutya ng Pilipinas. Also joining the motorcade were the three members of the Philippine Volcanoes on board the 2Go travel float, with vice president Stephen Tagud, assistant vice president Grace Golez and rugby players Harry Dionson Morris, Gaz dela Rosa Holgate and Jake Robrigao Letts.


The Bacolod Arts and Cultural Society, led by Vicky Vega, held a successful Filipiniana Concert at the Agape House of the Carmelite Monastery in Brgy. Mandalagan, Bacolod, for the benefit of music students.

Performing that night were the La Consolacion College-Bacolod choir, renowned sopranos Linda Cordova, Frances Ureta, Purisima Dayon, and Mika Sta. Ana and a lot more! Seen at the event was businesswoman Lucy Ponce, who was with her two music classmates from the College of the Holy Spirit.*
