SIB marks Soroptimist Week
The Soroptimist International of Bacolod celebrated Soroptimist Week recently with activities focused on the club’s advocacy “Say No to Domestic Violence, Sex and Human Trafficking”.
These included a visit to the Capuchin Tertiary Sisters to spend the day with the abandoned children, the Balay Pasilungan SIB building, halfway house of victims of domestic violence, sexual abuse and human trafficking, and the daycare center in Brgy. Taculing, Bacolod City.
The club officers and members also paid a courtesy call on Mayor Monico Puentevella at the Bacolod Government Center, and held a symposium in Brgy. Punta Taytay, where SIB president Melba Tan talked about their mission to help women and girls.
A caravan from the Capitol Lagoon to Punta Taytay, attended by all members, and a fellowship at the beach house of Mons Vic Rivas culminated the celebration.*
Remember: There may be those on earth who dress or eat better, but those who enjoy the peace of God sleep better and wake up happier.
