The Kasadya Bacolod Foundation Inc., lead organizer of this year’s MassKara Festival is encouraging Bacolodnons around the world to use #MassKara2013 or Hashtag MassKara2013 on social media, a press release from organizers said.

KBFi has identified a strong potential to promote tourism in the city through digital strategies in marketing and advertising MassKara Festival, it said.

The organizers aim to increase the online presence of MassKara Festival through enhanced user engagement in social media and the worldwide web, their press release said.

Through #MassKara2013, organizers are able to filter and monitor online data and conversations that can help them package the celebration in the following years, the release also said.

Various social media platforms will be used by the organizers to enforce #MassKara2013. It includes Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, SoundCloud, YouTube, Google Plus and many more.

The official website of MassKara Festival 2013 is www.bacolodmasskarafestival.com.

Festival Media Affairs and Online Business head Alfred Lucot said yesterday the festival website as of press time is not yet fully furnished.

A special tab, “#MassKara2013” will be added in the new features of the website. This tab will home all the filtered data from social media, he said.

KBFi has also partnered with online media outfits to power the live streaming of highlight events.

Furthermore, the organizers have invited blogger communities across the country to come and observe the celebration only happening in the City of Smiles, the press release also said.*
