‘Shabu', firearms recovered

A suspected drug pusher was arrested in a raid at his house in Barangay Calamba, Guihulngan City, Negros Oriental, Thursday.

Police identified the suspect as Eskizec de Asis Butalid, and recovered from his house six transparent plastic sachets of suspected shabu, two firearms, an improvised tooter, lighters, a pair of scissors, sealers, a digital weighing scale, mobile phones and tin foil, and P50,000 in cash believed to be proceeds from the sale of illegal drugs. show.

Several tally sheets of the illegal numbers game, “swertres”, were also confiscated during the raid conducted by members of the Guihulngan City Police and the Provincial Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Group, that was witnessed by representatives from the Department of Justice, barangay officials and the media.

The police said Butalid has been under close surveillance for his alleged involvement in the illegal drugs trade in Guihulngan and nearby towns. He is detained at the police lockup cell and charges for illegal possession of drugs and firearms are being readied for filing against him.*JFP
