BTTHS faces TCS in passerelle

The Bacolod Tay Tung High School will enjoy a homecourt advantage against Trinity Christian School as the two teams face each other at 8:40 a.m. in the Milo BEST passerelle provincial eliminations at BTTHS Po Hang Gym today.

St. John's Institute Team A and University of St. La Salle Team Awill play in the first game at 7:30 a.m. in the SBP category,

The Tay Tung Thunderbolts, winner over St. John's Institute and University of St. La Salle-A, has added USLS-B to its conquest with a 93-52 victory, as Sam Joseh Belangel drained 23 points.

Belangel was backed up by John Marie Palacios, who tallied 20 points, while John Vergara drilled in 14 and Seth Sangco added 10 as the Tay Tung boys continued to dominate their rivals in the tournament.

La Salle put up a good fight in the match-up and trailed by three points in the first quarter but the young Stingers were limited to three points in the second quarter.

While USLS underwent a slump, Belangel sizzled as he scored 16 of Tay Tung's 26 points to widen the lead to 44-18 at halftime.

Tay Tung put the game behind reach as Vergara scattered 10 points in the third quarter for a 72-31 advantage.

USLS got 17 points from Jason Biaco and a combined 20-point output from Gatuslao-Arceo-Cabalfin trio.*
