Man drowns
BY SHIELA GELERA

A man drowned in the sea at Purok Sea Wall, Brgy. Punta Taytay, Bacolod City, yesterday, Police Officer 3 Glenn Catulay, Station 9 case investigator, said yesterday.

Catulay identified the victim as Arnold Basister, 29, of Purok Datiles, Brgy. Handumanan in Bacolod.

Archie, the younger brother of the victim, told the police that Basister and his friends, also from Brgy. Handumanan whose names were not disclosed, had gone swimming at about11:15 a.m.

Catulay said Archie told them Arnold was found lying at the shoreline 30 minutes later.

Bystanders tried to revive him, believing there was still a chance for survival, Catulay said.

He said the residents rushed him to the Bacolod Adventist Medical Center but he was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician.*SGG
