Chu leads Tanduay Ice to
1st win in Fil-Sino tilt

A 15-point output from Carlo Chu in the second quarter allowed Tanduay Ice to firm up their hold in the lead and eventually tame Colt 45, 83-70, for their first win in the Fil-Sino Asia Brewery Inc. Inter-Color Basketball Tournament at Bacolod Tay Tung High School Gym, Friday night.

Also getting into the win column was Creamy Delight Pasteurized Yogurt, who streaked past Tanduay Black, 90-85, in the other game.

Chu, who finished with 21 points, acted as leader for Tanduay Ice as his second quarter sizzling performance allowed the team to post a 47-37 lead at the break.

Murcia fighters rule
3rd District slugfest

Young boxers from Murcia town dominated the 3rd District qualifier and will advance into the finals round of the Negros First Gov. Alfredo G. Marañon Jr. Boxing Cup set on October 9-13, 2013 in La Carlota City.

In the kids category, Murcia’s Melino Flores, Junel Francisco, and Charyl Tison will EB Magalona’s Remart Soledad in the championship round.

Three Murcia boxers were also picked in the school boy’s 13-14 years old category with Jenrick Lescano seeing action in the 36kgs., Rene Alimasag in the 38 kgs., and Raggie Escalona in the 44 kgs. after they prevailed over their opponents in the qualifying round held last week in Talisay City.

2nd NSL bowlfest
starts at Super Lanes

The 2nd NSL Non-rated Trio Bowling Tournament will start at 6 tonight at the Super Lanes of the Goldenfield Commercial Complex in Bacolod City.

The competition will be in 10 rounds and the top four teams will vie for the title in an up-the-ladder system.

Expected to field their line-up today’s opening games led by 1st NSL Non-rated Trio champion Retro Bowlers are ASSFBI Silverado, Davies, Kami Mga Hubin, Rj Stars NPBC, 69Ner’s, NOHS Team Selection, LJP Trading/NPBC, Grupo Retirado, NOHS ‘66/67, NOHS Ulihing Tubo, BCNHS Pirates, Joe & Joe, Kami Mga Tagapayo, Suppliers, among others.
