UNO-R booters blank WNU
in Negros First U13 tourney

Jan Rey Mendoza scored four goals while Luis Clauor, Jefferson Tolimao, and Christian Rufin netted one goal each as University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos held West Negros University scoreless, 7-0, in the latest match-up of the Negros First Under 13 Football Tournament held at the Panaad Park and Stadium pitch.

With the win, the young UNORians keep their No. 2 slot in the team standings behind University of St. La Salle, with eight wins and one loss.

La Salle keeps a tight hold on the No. 1 spot with eight wins, zero loss and one draw, as the team registered another big win Saturday against Don Bosco Technical Institute, 9-1.

Scorers for USLS were Rafael Gonzaga and Ariq Villo with three goals each, Ryan Locsin with two goals, and Chyle Miraflores, one goal.

John Lloyd Bentic prevented a shutout for DBTI with a goal in the 41st minute.

Also holding their respective rivals scoreless in separate match-ups were Moises Padilla against Montevista, Andres Bonifacio Elementary School against Bata ES, and Mabini Elementary School against Trinity Christian School.

Both ABES and Mabini share an identical 7-2-0 record while Moises Padilla lags behind at 3-4-2.

Meanwhile, St. Scholastica’s Academy registered its fourth win in the tournament at the expense of St. John Institute, 3-1.*NAB
