MDM bowlers dominate
Newsboy Double Open tilt

MDM Squad reigned in the 3rd Newsboy Double Open Bowling Tournament that ended last night at the Lopue’s East Bowling Center in Bacolod City.

The members of the champion team were Dan Corcelles, Melot “D’Steel” Alimon and Mae Memoracion.

MDM claimed the P5,000 top prize by registering 674 points in the final day for a three-round collection of 2,062.

Philippine Star led by Albert Solidarios finished second with 2,012, and JJ Squad placed third.

The two teams received P3,000 and P2,000, respectively.

Davies I and II of Romel Jover and Edgar Jerez were fourth and fifth with 2,004, while DAILY STAR I was sixth in the overall tally with 1,996.

The other participating teams were 78 Stars, 1,973; Batch ’85, 1,962; Gwapings II, 1,934; GNA, 1,897; DAILY STAR II, 1,852; SPM Team, 1,923; Knight Riders, 1,852;Dos Amigos, Philippine Daily Inquirer, 1,874; Gwapings I, 1,861; Bagol Team, SBS and 4J’s Team. 1,765.

Angelito Masculino of Philippine Star registered the highest single with 158, while Irne Diaz in pinning with 93.

Philippine Star also took the highest team double with 276, and JJ Team in triple with 724.

Meanwhile, Suppliers Friendship Cup Open and Non-rated Trio Bowling Tournament will unfold tonight at the New Top’s Millennium Plaza Alley in Bacolod City.
