Servando claims third straight
 NCAA badminton MVP title

Honing her badminton skills at the courts in Bacolod City and giving her province Negros Occidental several gold medals during her Palarong Pambansa years, Nikki Therese Lim Servando continues to reap honors in college as she recently bagged her third straight Most Valuable Player award in the NCAA women’s badminton.

Servando, a third year Hotel Institutional Management scholar at De La Salle College of St. Benilde, also helped the St. Benilde team capture the women’s badminton championship by dominating the women’s first single event against Letran’s Bea Rodriguez, 21-4, 21-7.

Duplicating the feat in women’s second single was her teammate Allizandra Candelaria, who turned back another Letran lady shuttler Mia Armian, 21-14, 21-7.

With the win, the young UNORians keep their No. 2 slot in the team standings behind University of St. La Salle, with eight wins and one loss.

La Salle keeps a tight hold on the No. 1 spot with eight wins, zero loss and one draw, as the team registered another big win Saturday against Don Bosco Technical Institute, 9-1.
