Summit stays unbeaten
in Fil-Sino AB cagefest

A double-digit lead against Cobra Energy Drink in the second and third quarter carried Summit Mineral Water through until the final buzzer to keep their record unblemished at 4-0 in the Fil-Sino Asia Brewery Inc. Inter-Color Basketball Tournament at the Bacolod Tay Tung High School Po Hang Gym, Monday night.

The second quarter explosion from Summit caught Cobra by surprise after the latter registered a four-point advantage, 22-18, at the end of the opening quarter. Cobra was missing the services of slotman Rodel Canino.

Tubby Villanueva and Kieron Tan anchored Summit’s big run in the second canto with Villanueva scoring 12 points and Tan hitting 10 for a 48-33 lead at the break.

NU beats Ateneo, 70-65;
shares top spot with FEU

MANILA - The Ateneo Blue Eagles gave the National University Bulldogs a good fight, but the latter stayed composed in the endgame to take a 70-65 victory in their second round battle at the Mall Of Asia Arena in Pasay City yesterday.

With the win, the Bulldogs powered their way back to the top of the UAAP standings to join the FEU Tamaraws with a similar 10-4 record and secured a twice to beat advantage.

Bobby Ray Parks came back with a vengeance after finishing with 24 points, seven rebounds and two steals while Emmanuel Mbe added 17 points and 14 rebounds.

Flores, KMH take lead in
NSL bowling tourney

Flores Team and Kami Mga Hubin Bowling Club shared the lead in the opening of the 2nd NSL Non-rated Trio Bowling Tournament Tuesday night at the Super Lanes of the Goldenfield Commercial Complex in Bacolod City.

The FT Team headed by Roger Flores and KMH managed by Sonny Elegado had similar 974 points to lead the event.

Davies and ASSFBI Silverado led by Romel Jover and Cecil Silverio are second and third with 959 and 942, respectively.
