Pondevilla named

Dan Pondevilla was appointed officer-in-charge general manager of the Victorias-Manapla-Cadiz Rural Electric Service Cooperative Inc. by the VRESCO Board of Directors during its recent board meeting effective Sept. 19.

His predecessor, Art Cabrera, reportedly requested the Board to return him to his old position as chief of VRESCO’s Technical Services Department.

Pondevilla, who is the City Legal Officer of Escalante, said the Board wanted a general manager who is a lawyer. He added that VRESCO is losing millions of pesos because of its low collection efficiency and that its 92 percent collection efficiency is below the standard of 98 percent.

Pondevilla said he will address the systems loss and the need to replace transformers that are about 25 years old.*GPB
