Bacolod businessman
questions airfare hike

A Bacolod businessman is questioning the excessive hike in airfares despite the  dramatic  drop in fuel prices.

Businessman Eduardo Alunan yesterday said he has brought the matter to the attention of Rep. Evelio Leonardia  (Bacolod) and Rep. Alfredo Abelardo Benitez (Neg. Occ., 3rd District).

He said that from December 23 to 28 Cebu Pacific prices range from P8,244 to P8,860   for a roundtrip  ticket and Philippine Airlines  from P8,030 to P11,261.

“These fares seem higher compared to last year's inspite of the significant drop in fuel prices,” he added.

This is on top of the public’s agony over constantly delayed flights, he said.*CPG
