Vallacar Transit yesterday appealed for the understanding of the public for their inconvenience with the shortage of buses that are undergoing preventive maintenance as a precaution against accidents.
In its press statement, Vallacar said that with the recent series of accidents involving other transport companies which claimed the lives of hapless victims, they are reaffirming their responsibility to the riding public to do their best to continuously improve their services.
It said the shortage of buses affects their two terminals located at the Sambok and North Bata Terminals in Bacolod City.
The press statement also said that, in their desire to provide quality, safe and comfortable journey, they decided to have an inventory of their buses and make them undergo preventive maintenance to check normal wear and tear, brakes, tires, steering wheels and other critical parts.
It also said these preventive measures are their way of ensuring the riding public a safe and comfortable journey.
Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board VI Regional Director Romulo Bernardes said yesterday that they welcome Vallacar's move at self restraint to ensure the road worthiness of its vehicles, the press release also said.*
