Double gold for Lirazan in
WVPRISAA athletics

Criminology freshman Christopher Lirazan from University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos gifted the NOPSSCEA team two gold medals in men's athletics in the 2014 Western Visayas Private Schools Sports Athletic Association in San Jose, Antique.

A triple-gold medalist in last year's Palarong Pambansa in Dumaguete City, Lirazan dominated the men's 100-meter and 400-meter race to register a double gold for NOPSSCEA while his fellow UNO-R Criminology student Kholince Gedalanga brought in another gold from men's discus throw and bronze medal in shot put.

Jembie Rebucas topped the men's long jump while Devy Isada finished with a silver in women's shot put to boost NOPSSCEA's medal haul in the WVPRISAA.

NOHS bowlfest
resumes today

The Negros Occidental High School 2 nd Conference Inter-class Bowling Tournament will resume today at the Superlanes of the Goldenfield Commercial Complex with Class '82 leading in the premiere division, and Class'68 and Batch'91 in Category B and C, respectively.

The Class '82 bowlers headed by Mae Trayfalgar and Azela Ban Tejada registered 4,504 points after three rounds to lead the premiere division while Edgar Baldonado's Class '66 was second with 4,409.

Class'73 was third overall from No. 7 with 4,375.

Age-group bootfest
kicks off at Panaad

The 2014 Dynamic Football League U13 and U16 Age-Group

Tournament opens today at the Panaad Park and Stadium pitch in Brgy. Mansilingan, Bacolod City with Andres Bonifacio Elementary School taking on University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos in the U13 curtain-raiser at 8 a.m.

The U13 match-up between ABES and UNO-R will follow the opening ceremony with Negros Occidental Gov. Alfredo Marañon Jr. and Bacolod City Mayor Monico Puentevella invited as guests.
