Neg. Occ. pork prices
increase further  - vet

Average pork prices in Negros Occidental have increased by P1.25 as of Monday compared to last month, and the highest increase, so far, recorded this year.

Renante Decena of the Provincial Veterinary Office said yesterday that pork was selling at only P185.94 per kilo last month while it is now P187.19, although the price in Bacolod City may be higher.

Decena said the increase in pork prices was triggered by the deficit of its supply in the province because of the large volume of importation of these products to Panay Island, Cebu and Manila last month.

He also said Edwin Sanchez, president of the Federation of Cattle Raisers of the Philippines, and its past president, Edwin Sanchez, will meet Governor Alfredo Marañon Jr. Friday on the preparations.

Starting Sept. 1, 2014, voluntary, self-employed, OFWs and non-working spouses will be required to use the new consolidated contribution payment form, it said.

Employers will continue to use the SSS Form R5 in the payment of their employees' contributions until the current stock of the form is consumed. Employers are required to start using the new contribution payment form on 01 November 2015, it added.
