Guv defends PNoy

President Benigno Aquino got a defender in Negros Occidental Gov. Alfredo Marañon who said yesterday, that under his watch, investor confidence was restored and the Philippine economy has improved.

He also said that  the president had more surplus  funds for the  Disbursement Acceleration Program that was spent for the good of the people because there were savings from projects unlike in previous administrations.

What is important is that the president did not steal the money, it was used for the good of the people, he said.

The governor blamed the rise in prices of some basic commodities  on hoarding by some unscrupulous traders.

He reiterated that he has asked the town and city mayors of Negros Occidental to activate  their  Price Coordinating Councils  to assess the price and supply situations in their areas, and to take measures to ensure the stability of prices and supply of basic necessities  and prime commodities.*CPG
