Retired seafarer found
dead in Bacolod CoP
BY SHIELA GELERA

The body of a retired seafarer was found in his house at Cityville Subdivision in Brgy. Estefania, Bacolod City, at about 5 p.m. Saturday.

Senior Insp. Benedicto Villarias, Station 4 chief, said yesterday that they ruled out the angle of foul play in the death of Johnny Divinagracia, 62 since no signs of struggle have been noted in the body, that was already in an advanced state of decomposition and the victim's belongings were intact.

Divinagracia, who was living alone in the house, was found lying on the floor beside his bed, Villarias said.

Francis Divinagracia, 55, of Brgy. Sum-ag in Bacolod, who is the victim's brother, was informed by Elizabeth Sumpio, 66, that she noticed a foul odor coming from the house of the victim, Villarias said.

Villarias said Divinagracia had suffered from a heart illness and had undergone a bypass operation.

The cadaver was brought to the St. Peter Funeral Homes in Brgy. Alijis, Bacolod City, for autopsy, Villarias said.*SGG
