Jeep driver
shoots colleague
BY SHIELA GELERA

A jeepney driver shot his colleague at the Circumferential Road in Barangay Villamonte, Bacolod City, at about 11:20 a.m. Saturday, allegedly because of an old grudge.

Jonathan Dalumpines, 31, of Brgy. Handumanan, sustained injuries on his face and was brought to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital, Senior Insp. Benedicto Villarias, Station 4 chief, said yesterday.

Suspect Pablito Camparicio, of Brgy. Taculing in Bacolod, evaded arrest, Villarias said.

Police investigation showed that Camparicio alighted from his jeepney and pointed a gun at Dalumpines, who was fixing his jeepney beside the Circumferential Road, Villarias said.

Dalumpines and Camparicio grappled with each other, and the gun discharged with the bullet hitting the side mirror of the victim's jeepney and a Suzuki Carry truck, that was parked near the Jetti Gasoline Station, Villarias said.

Camparicio then struck Dalumpines on the face with the gun, pointed it at him, and fired its trigger, but it malfunctioned, Villarias said.

A deformed slug of a firearm of an unknown caliber was recovered at the crime scene, police records show.*SGG
