says he saw ‘aswang’

A trisikad driver beheaded his 70-year-old mother,  claiming that her face was changing  into that of an “aswang (witch)” in Purok Villa Esperanza, Brgy. Tangub, Bacolod City, at about 2:40 a.m. yesterday.
The headless body of Elidena Gabitanan, nude from the waist, lying with her hands and feet tied with a piece of cloth and plastic bag, and  bathed in her own blood was found  behind their house that is near the sea, Insp. Richard Fajarito, Police Station 8 deputy chief, said yesterday.

DOJ affirms power of
SRA on imports

Justice Secretary Leila de Lima has affirmed that the Sugar Regulatory Administration  will continue to have regulatory powers over imported sugar entering the country  in 2015  when the ASEAN Free Trade Area agreement is fully enforced.

Fall-out from MH17

The dastardly act committed by those who fired that missile at the Malaysian Airlines peacefully flying over territory it had believed safe for passage was a condemnable decision that has called for the worst reactions from countries all over the world. Nobody could imagine how men, of whatever nationality they were, would just fire a deadly weapon at an aircraft they could not even identify, as if they were just testing the accuracy and deadliness it was capable of.
Up to now, it has not been pinpointed yet who actually pushed the botton, or pulled the trigger to release that missile that so accurately hit its target and caused the  untimely death of 298 human beings, some of them very young ones with an entire lifetime still ahead of them.moremoremore
