Capital to promote enterprise

The Department of Trade and Industry said easing access to finance will promote entrepreneurial activities for Filipinos.

DTI conducted a Forum on Access to Capital in Makati City yesterday to offer investment sources for micro, small, and medium enterprises and for those who want to start a business.

DTI Undersecretary for Management Services Group Nora Terrado said at the sidelines of the forum that they are trying to show here is to give options to MSMEs what are the possible sources.

SB Corporation was created through Republic Act No. 9501 or the Magna Carta for Small Enterprises and envisions that in 2018 the country will have MSMEs even in rural areas that are capable to access finance for themselves.

SB Corporation with CARD SME Bank Inc. and Switzerland-based Uberis Capital, presented their financing programs for MSMEs during the forum.

The DTI Undersecretary also noted that with the improving economy, the country is now attractive for more financial institution that can further provide financing programs for MSMEs and potential entrepreneurs.*PNA
