Recipients of CDOs
still defying orders?

Some personalities who had been issued cease-and-desist orders by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources to make them stop the construction of facilities within the protected area of the Northern Negros Natural Park in Salvador Benedicto, Negros Occidental, continue to defy the order,

Task Force Ilahas action officer, Chief Inspector Gabriel Gutierrez. said yesterday that DENR has issued cease-and desist orders to 48 individuals who include Salvador Benedicto Mayor Jose Max Ortiz and Murcia Mayor Andrew Montelibano, to prevent further construction within the NNNP protected area in the town.

Gutierrez, however, said their recent inspections at Salvador Benedicto showed that some personalities issued the CDO continue to occupy and deliver construction materials to their areas.moremoremore

Tit for tat?

Bacolod Traffic Authority head Rogelio Ebreo yesterday said he will also ask the National Bureau of Investigation to investigate Councilor Carlos Jose Lopez regarding the P2.1 million patrol boat and trailer donated to Bacolod City, and a truck he has not turned over.

This was after Lopez had asked the NBI to investigate Ebreo concerning the sale and issuance of body number sticker by the BTAO that several jeepney and taxi operators had complained about.

At a press conference yesterday, Ebreo challenged Lopez to produce the patrol boat. If the patrol boat is covered by a memorandum of agreement stating that it should be used against illegal fishing activities, it should be turned over to the city, he said.moremoremore
