Body discovered in manhole
BY SHIELA GELERA

The body of a man believed to be mentally unstable was found in a manhole at Bangga Carmela in Brgy. Guinhalaran, Silay City, Negros Occidental, at about 3 p.m. Wednesday.

The fatality was identified by the police as Rolan Dimpas, 33, of Sitio Cubay in Brgy. Guinhalaran.

Several children, who were picking Indian mangoes, discovered the body in the manhole, reports said.

Police investigation showed that Dimpas might have been dead for two to three days already, based on the foul odor from his body.

The police said Dimpas was frequently seen loitering in the area and when he felt hot, he would go down into the manhole to “take a bath”.

No visible wounds were seen on the body, but an autopsy was conducted to determine the cause of death.*SGG
