Peso slides to P44.77

MANILA -- The Philippine peso ended the week at P44.77 against a U.S. dollar.

This is weaker than Thursday's P44.63, in which the local unit slipped by 0.14 centavos.

It opened the day weaker at 44.77 from previous day's 44.63-level.

Peso traded between 44.72 and 44.78, bringing the average level for yesterday at 44.75.

At the end of the week, volume of trade declined to USD574.7 million from Thursday's volume of USD937.8 million.*PNA
