‘Whirlwind’ slams
houses in Pulupandan

BY CARLA GOMEZ

A whirlwind destroyed houses in Pulupandan town yesterday, while floods brought on by continuous rains caused evacuations in Talisay City.

The whirlwind destroyed two houses and damaged two others in Barangay Zone 1, Pulupandan, 8 a.m. yesterday, municipal administrator Federico Infante said.

Meanwhile, flooding in Barangay Dos Hermanas, Talisay City, caused 20 families or 71 persons to evacuate to the Old Barangay Hall starting Thursday, Dave Cuajao of the Provincial Disaster Management Team said.

There were also nine families, or 32 individuals, in Barangay Zone 2 evacuated to the Tayabas Elementary School, while 20 families or 65 individuals in Barangay Zone 8 evacuated to the Inocencio B. Ferrer School of Fisheries, he added.*CPG
