New 47th IB commander
to assume post next week

The turnover rite of the 47th Infantry Battalion command has been reset to October 14 in Cauayan town, Negros Occidental.

Lt. Col. Pompeyo Jason Almagro is taking over the 47th IB command from Lt. Col. Ariel Reyes in a ceremony Tuesday, which is expected to be presided over by Maj. Gen. Rey Leonardo Guerrero, 3rd Infantry Division commanding general.

Almagro was formerly commander of the 3rd Civil Military Operations Battalion of the 3ID.

Reyes will replace Lt. Col. Wilfredo Isaac as commander of the 12th Infantry (CADRE) Battalion in Panay.

Maj. Rey Tiongson, 3ID Public Affairs Office chief, said Reyes will supervise all CAFGU units of the 3ID in Negros and Panay islands.

Isaac, who also served as 11th Infantry Battalion in Negros Oriental, is slated for schooling for career advancement.*GPB
