Neg. Occ. ships out fruits, too

The Province of Negros Occidental shipped out   1,261 metric tons of fruits to the provinces of IloIlo, Cebu, Davao and Metro Manila  in the third quarter of this year, Provincial Plant Quarantine Officer  John Calumpiano said.

He said the biggest  volume was recorded this month with 497 metric tons. Leading fruits being shipped out were mango with at 500 metric tons , banana at 308 metric tons  and jackfruit 240 metric tons, data showed. Fruits with the least volumes  in shipping out were papaya at 2.9 metric tons and coffee .96 ton.   

Calumpiano said the province is also sending out other fruits such as avocado, chico, durian, mangosteen,lanzones, pineapple, and rambutan and santol. *MNM
