The official of the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board nabbed by the National Bureau of Investigation in an entrapment operation in Bacolod City Wednesday was released on bail yesterday.
Arturo Gepes, head of the LTFRB Bacolod inspection and monitoring team, was ordered released after he posted P141,500 in bail, his lawyer, Renecito Novero, said yesterday.
He posted bail for charges of robbery, violation of the Anti Graft and Corrupt Practices Act and ethical standards of government employees pending before the Bacolod City Prosecutor's Office.
NBI agents arrested Gepes at the LTFRB office in Bacolod City Wednesday for allegedly accepting P5,000 in grease money from taxi operator Lauro Dizon.
Dizon who was processing a sale and transfer of franchise at the LTFRB in Bacolod alleged that Gepes solicited the amount from him to expedite its release from the regional director, Alusan said.
Gepes has denied soliciting grease money.*CPG
