for ‘straight path' – PNoy

President Benigno Aquino urged Filipinos yesterday to elect a new leader with the zeal to pursue the reforms started under his watch that have led to the fastest economic growth in the country's history.

In his sixth and last State of the Nation Address, Aquino said his anti-corruption campaign has transformed the Philippines to being “Asia's Rising Tiger”, “Asia's Rising Star”, and “Asia's Bright Spot”.

Negrenses react
to Aquino's SONA

Locales from the different sectors of the Negros Oriental community expressed varied opinions on the sixth and final State of the Nation Address of President Benigno Aquino III during the opening of the 16th Congress at the Batasang Pambansa in Quezon City yesterday.

While giving him a rating of between five and eight, on a scale of one to 10, the reactors said they still want to see the President follow through with certain concerns and other issues as he enters the final stretch of his term ending in mid-2016.

“Though there are things I was expecting to be included (in his SONA) but not mentioned, I felt the sincerity of his words,” Salustiano Jimenez, Department of Education division of schools superintendent of Negros Oriental, said. moremoremore
