BRINGING CAMPAIGN TO GRASSROOTS
BY GILBERT BAYORAN
Senator Nancy Binay yesterday shrugged off the support being extended by Negros Occidental Gov. Alfredo Marañon Jr. to Interior and Local Government Secretary Mar Roxas, the presumptive presidential bet of the Liberal Party in the 2016 elections, stressing that they will directly deal with the people at the grassroots level.
“What is important for us, deretso kami sa tao (we go straight to the people), although the support of local government executives is also important,” Binay, who arrived in Bacolod City last night, said.
“But at the end of the day, for us, our focus is on the grassroots level”, Binay, who was joined last night by Murcia Mayor Andrew Montelibano, Pulupandan Mayor Miguel Peña and Board Member Patrick Lacson in dinner at a restaurant in Bacolod City, said.
